TEMPO.CO, Depok – The Depok city government provided free WiFi across the city. Head of the Depok Communication and Informatics Agency Manto said 155 WiFi devices were installed in 118 spots throughout 2022.
“The speed is 100 Mbps,” said Manto in Depok, Monday, January 23, 2023, as quoted from Antara.
Manto said the agency supported technological advances by providing this free WiFi facility. “The principle is to do service to the community,” he added.
The free hotspots are accessible in parks, urban village offices, sub-district offices, police posts, mosques, integrated health posts (Posyandu), community halls, sports fields, multipurpose buildings, and pedestrian bridges (JPO).
“We will continue to optimize the public WiFi that has been installed. Hopefully, it can be utilized well by the community,” said Manto
Free internet access was granted as the Depok government considered the rising public need for the internet to gain information broadcasts and public services online.
