Head of the Bengkulu National Road Agency (BPJN) Aryatno Sihombing stated that the provincial government should meet some conditions before the assets were given.
“Bengkulu Governor has issued a letter on December 5, 2022, in which he proposed to use or utilize an area of 3.5 hectares of land of the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry, and we have discussed about it for administrative requirements. However, before the land assets are given, there are some conditions that must be met,” Sihombing remarked on Thursday.
The ministry supports the initiative for the grant of land assets, especially if they are utilized accordingly, and not have their utilization or function derail from the original intent.
Bengkulu Regional Secretary Hamka Sabri explained that the Bengkulu governor had requested for the granting of Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) and laboratory built on the ministry’s land.
“Essentially, the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry approves and supports the grant of the land to the Bengkulu Provincial Government,” Sabri pointed out.
Once the land has been granted, the provincial government will build a workshop, warehouse, training center, as well as the Regional Technical Implementation Unit office.
Moreover, his administration would map land utilization programs that would be in accordance with the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry’s intent when they handed over the land, he noted.
“However, this is not final, and it is necessary to hold a discussion meeting again with the head of the Regional Technical Implementation Unit and the work unit,” he stated.
