We will also bolster (the dissemination of) the literature and history-based narratives about Indonesian tourism destinations.

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry (Kemenparekraf) collaborated with the National Library to launch the e-Library Kemenparekraf application to facilitate the public to obtain data about the tourism and creative economy sector.

Currently, the community is living in the era of digital transformation wherein all activities can be conducted conveniently by implementing digital technology, Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno noted in a statement on Monday.

In addition, Uno remarked that nowadays, all information can be easily and quickly accessed from anywhere and at any time.

Hence, the ministry has continued to innovate by presenting a digital library that is expected to provide information required by the community.

“Hopefully, development of the e-Library Kemenparekraf can increase (people’s) interest in reading as well as expedite the dissemination of information on Indonesia’s tourism and creative economy (potentials). Thus, they will be increasingly popular among members of the community,” Uno remarked.

Secretary of Kemenparekraf Ni Wayan Giri Adnyani said that her side will also encourage lecturers and students of various tourism state polytechnics (Poltekpar) under the auspices of the ministry to utilize the digital library.

“This will be the initial step (to disseminate information on the use of the e-library). We will start at the center (at the ministry), and later, we will encourage the various Poltekpar that we have to also utilize it,” she noted.

In addition, Adnyani said her side will encourage the use of the digital library in various tourism destinations across Indonesia.

Head of National Library Muhammad Syarif Bando said that his side will launch several digital books to improve public literacy and support Kemenparekraf by creating interesting narratives regarding various tourism destinations in Indonesia.

“This January (2023), we will launch 1.1 million copies of digital books for the public. We will also bolster (the dissemination of information on) the literature and history-based narratives about Indonesian tourism destinations,” he added.
