A search by the Indonesian navy has failed to find a Vietnamese cargo vessel and its crew missing for 10 days.
The state news agency Bernama said that contact had been lost with the 1,100-dwt aggregates carrier Dai Cat 06 (built 2017) in the waters of Pemangkat, west Kalimantan.
The vessel left Kampung Aceh in Malaysia on 23 December and was supposed to arrive in Kuching, Sarawak, on 31 December.
The ship was last seen in Indonesian waters on 1 January.
Efforts by the Indonesian and Malaysian authorities to trace it have not been successful.
Indonesian search and rescue agency Basarnas said the Indonesian navy had been brought in on Sunday.

A distress signal from the ship was then received on Monday.
A team reached the location of the signal but did not find any signs of an accident or debris in the area.
Waves heights of 1.2 metres forced the team to return to shore.
Iron pipe cargo
Malaysia’s Johor Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) said the Dai Cat 06 was carrying a cargo of iron pipes worth MYR 726,000 ($166,000).
The crew consisted of three Malaysians and two Indonesians, all aged between 20 and 57.
The vessel was officially reported as missing on Monday following a police report made by the ship’s agent.
The Dai Cat 06 is listed as owned by Dai Cat Import Export of Vietnam.
Clarksons reports the vessel as Mongolia flag, but Equasis has the flag as unknown.
There are no port state control detentions on the ship’s record.
